Debden Sports 2
Manford Way Reserves 1
Debden's looked to win their 1st cup final of the season at the fourth attempt.
Debden started the brighter of the two sides and had the better of the early exchanges. The best chance fell to Danny Read who was foiled by a good save by the Manford Way keeper. Manford Way came into the game a started to attack the Debden defence which was well marshalled by the excellent Simon Fifield. Manford could have taken the lead but for excellent save by keeper Gareth Lealand.
It was Debden who would take the lead just before half time when Trevor Barcley put in some excellent work down the left hand side to cross for Olly Thomas to open the scoring.
Debden came out much stronger in the second half and could have doubled their lead on several occasions. Finally some good work paid off for Daniel Pace to score to put Debden in control. Debden continued to press and could have increased the lead further. Manford however had other ideas and with 10 minutes remaining Kin Kella Lutanki broke clear and finished well to half the deficit. Manford could have equalised late on but when Gareth Lealand made the save of the match and finally Manford put the goal right across the goal in the dying seconds.
It was to be Debden's night in a well deserved win.
