Debden won 7-6 on penalties


Debden's 2nd team rounding the outstanding team in style.


Debden started the match slightly the better of the two sides and did make a couple of early chances. Debden took the lead midway through the first half when they were awarded a penalty by the linesman for shirt pulling. Rob Parnell stepped up and duly put the penalty away. Both teams played some good football throughout the remainder of the half but Debden took the lead into half time.


Harold Wood came out determined in the second half and scored after Debden keeper made a great one on one save which the forward was able to follow up on and put away. Soon after Debden were reduced to 10 men and Harold Wood then made 2 or 3 good chances which they could have scored from. Debden now with players struggling did managed to defend well and took the game to extra time.


During extra time Debden played with only  fit men as Daniel Pace struggled with injury but Debden were able to keep the scores level and take the match to penalties.


After 6 well taken penalties by each side goalkeeper Russell Nairne made a great save and dispite David Brown thinking the team had won the match it was then left to Andrew Binet to take the winning penalty to bring the cup back to Chigwell Lane.
